The Gentle Seduction by Marc Stiegler is a short story published in 1989 about the slow but certain change from human to post-human, starting with a cure for osteoporosis and end up much, much more.

An investigator who tries to figure out the purpose and plans of an AI finds nothing but chaotic patterns.
